Built from the inside out.
We didn't start Manifest because we read about healthcare's problems. We lived them.
Between us, we've spent more than forty years inside the system—leading strategy, product, and operations at major health plans, building innovative care-delivery companies from scratch, and working directly with the employers who pay the bills.
We developed benefits savings strategies for major health plans. We launched digital care models and negotiated value-based care contracts. We saw what worked, what didn't, and what kept getting in the way.
The pattern was always the same: employers bearing real financial risk for healthcare, but operating at a distance from the decisions that drive cost. Providers delivering care every day, but with no mechanism to understand what employers are actually trying to solve. Two parties with aligned interests—and no infrastructure to act on them.
The traditional answer has been more intermediaries. More vendors. More complexity. We thought the answer might be simpler: help employers and providers actually work together.
That's what Manifest does. We're not a network, a broker, or another point solution. We're a design studio that helps the people who pay for healthcare and the people who deliver it find each other, understand each other, and build working relationships that reduce cost and improve care.
We started in Michigan because the conversations kept pointing here. Providers asking how to reach employers directly. Employers asking where to find high-value local care. The same questions, from both sides, in the same market. We built Manifest to answer them.
